CHESTNUST ROASTING ON AN OPEN FIRE!!!!!!

Thanksgiving is upon us and now Santa Claus is coming to town!!! Let's hope the fire trucks are not following behind!  After all the arguments have been settled about where and what decorations HOA's CAN or CAN'T display. One would think it is time to enjoy this wonderfully festive time of year. But, not so quick!

For those of you that enjoy that golden crisp DEEP FRIED TURKEY every year, did you know that The National Fire and Protection Agency reports there are over 1000 homes lost each holiday season due to improper execution of the feat!  Most HOA's don't have any regulations regarding the use of outdoor deep fryers, while the majority of condominiums strictly forbid outdoor cooking of any kind.

And who doesn't love the smell of a freshly cut Christmas tree, all sparkly with lights and tinsel. But if not watered properly this majestic site can become a fire hazard.

Did you know that Christmas tree fires result in an average of 13 deaths, 27 injuries and $16.7 million dollars in damage each year due to dry Christmas Trees and overloaded electrical outlets? And what do we do once the holiday is over, we dump that dried up fire hazard out in the backyard because well... "No one will see it back there!"

And then we prepare to welcome in the New Year! At midnight we join our friends and loved ones we share kisses, hugs, well wishes, champagne and FIREWORKS! Lots and lots of fireworks!

Oh and remember the dried up Christmas tree in the backyard? It's now a blazing tribute to 2011, and your phenomenal fireworks grade finale, well the hot ashes landed on your neighbor's roof and now their home is lighting up the skyline.  Really giving a new meaning to a spectacular fireworks display!!!  The National Fire and Protection Agency reported in 2010, that fireworks caused an estimated 18,000 fires, and $38 million in property damages!!!!!    Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas !!!!!!!!

My Christmas wish for each and every one of you is a peaceful, happy, event free holiday. Please use caution and care when celebrating so that only chestnuts are roasting on an open fire!
